Timberland - Bringing You The Latest New Season Boots, Boat Shoes, Chukka Boots & Footwear
Although the Timberland brand is only sixty-six years old, worldwide it’s one of the most iconic. In 1952 Nathan Swartz, a shoe stitcher by trade, started out doing contract work for other manufacturers with his Abington Shoe Company.
Inspired by their company’s maintenance man who wore rugged work boots year-round that were comfortable, durable, and water-resistant. The Swartz family decided to create boots that could be guaranteed as waterproof. Targeted at blue-collar workers and sold in army-navy stores, Timberland boots were a huge hit on college campuses. That waterproof Original Yellow Boot™ was created for hard-working New Englanders. The shoes were constructed using 80 separate steps, built from 39 components, driven by form, function and craftsmanship.
The iconic name wasn’t thought of until the 1970s, when the Abington Shoe Company changed its name to the Timberland Company. The deciduous tree on a field logo is recognised on a global scale. It’s only fitting to have a tree as its logo as the brand name translates to “land that is covered with trees and shrubs.”
Throughout the 1990s, the Timberland Company continued to see substantial expansion, adding more product lines such as backpacks, clothing, watches, children’s’ footwear, the list goes on. Its beginnings as a shoe company could not have predicted a company still making waves almost a century later, but that is exactly what the Timberland brand has become.
You can't fail to have noticed that the 90s trend has continued to thrive this season. Chokers, puffer jackets, slip dresses and slogan tees have taken the high street by storm. But the return of the Timberland boot has not gone unnoticed. With the Kardashians, Pharrell, the Hadid sisters and even Hailey Baldwin getting in on the act, EVERYONE loves the footwear classics!
Timberland boots are a staple and come in a variety of designs, colours and fits. If you don’t like one style, there are plenty more to choose from e.g. The Classic Boat, Killington Chukka, yet all of them maintain their signature sturdy look. Made specifically for people who spend long days on their feet, they contain an exclusive anti-fatigue technology insole. This innovative method is built into the midsole and uses geometric cone support to provide exceptional standing comfort, shock absorption and energy return all day.
Some of our favourite new arrivals from this seasons clothing range include the YCC Cut & Sew capsule collection, and the Kennebec River Brand t-shirt. One of our favourite pieces from the latest footwear collection is the Bradstreet Chukka Leather Shoes which feature an OrthoLite® footbed, and Three-layer SensorFlex™ technology giving superb support, suspension and flexibility on any terrain.
