Hype x Star Wars Launch Party - Truman Brewery, Shoreditch.
Posted on 03 November 2017

Last night, we got invited down to the Hype x Star Wars launch party at The Old Truman Brewery. Upon arrival it looked lively from the outside. You could see people dancing in to the venue with Stormtrooper masks, Star Wars merch and tote bags. The sound system could be heard from all the way down the street, which projected an energetic and fun atmosphere that stopped a lot of passers-by in their tracks.
Once sorted out with a wrist band I made my way inside. There was an exclusive preview of some of the collection, which featured; Chewbacca style fleece jumpers, Lightsaber themed backpacks, bomber jackets and Stormtrooper dad caps. They also had an arcade style claw machine, where you could use Hype gold tokens to try and win some baseball caps. This seemed very popular as there were very long queues for this!

Upstairs they had DJ Yoda on the decks, keeping the party thriving with his tunes that had everyone dancing. Opposite him there was a bar serving a selection of free drinks from Vodka, to Jägermeister and soft drinks.

Obviously, Hype had to go above and beyond. So rather than having a photo booth, they had a photo area where you could take pictures with life sized storm troopers and C3PO. This was one of the most popular attractions of the night, as it became the most crowded section of the venue. Everyone wanted to get a picture with them, and you couldn’t blame them!
I saw a few familiar faces; Remel London a radio presenter at Capital Xtra was there alongside popular model Joshua Williams and Made In Chelsea star Alex Mytton.

Overall, it seemed to be a successful event. Everyone was enjoying themselves, and the event couldn’t have been any more crowded. Congrats Hype, I hope the rest of the launch goes well, and I can’t wait until the next event.
Until next time guys.
