90's Comeback Brands at Jacket Required - Menswear Tradeshow, London
Posted on 03 August 2017
Last week, the UKK team returned to the Jacket Required menswear trade show, at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch – London. After 10 minutes of walking around the exhibit, it felt like a blast from the past! I couldn't help but notice quite a few old school 90’s brands that were making a comeback; Airwalk, Kangol, Umbro, K-Swiss and Kappa.
I had seen a few celebs in the press recently wearing some of these 'comeback brands'! 21 Savage wore a red Kappa Tracksuit in his newly released ‘All The Smoke’ music video, which has already generated over 5 million views! Jess Woodley from Made In Chelsea, is a lover of all things vintage and has built up a small collection of Kappa hats. Drake was recently spotted wearing an old 2012 Umbro x Palace collab.

With the recent success of Italian sportswear brand Champion, it’s no surprise that other brands who were also huge in the 90’s are reinventing their old collections. As consumers trawl through charity shops trying to recreate that specific look.
I did ask the Kappa sales representative where the popper tracksuit bottoms were, as they seem to be very popular. Unfortunately, they won’t be dropping any more until AW18.
As well as checking out new brands, I also got the opportunity to meet some the guys from the brands we already stock; Ellesse, Jack and Jones, Superga, Hype, Converse and Nicce London. It was nice to see a sneak preview of next years collections! Converse have got some amazing new hat colourways in-store for SS18.
Thanks for having us back Jacket Required.
Until next time x
