Virtual Party Outfit Inspo
Posted on 19 June 2020

As virtual meetups become the new norm, we expect your wardrobe has changed a little too. Most of us have swapped jeans for joggers and makeup for a bare face, as all there is to do is chill in the house. BUT... that doesn’t have to be the case! Who says you can’t still get a little dressed up, get the drinks flowing and party with your friends over Zoom or Houseparty!
If your birthday has unfortunately fallen during the months of Coronavirus or you just miss a good night out with your best mates, there is no excuse to not celebrate. The beauty of technology is that it hasn’t been too difficult to keep in touch with loved ones and mark important dates. So, be sure to throw yourself a banging birthday bash and make it a momentous occasion, despite what is going on outside. And hey, it will be one to remember that’s for sure!
Now, you can’t have a party without the party outfit, right!? Just because you won’t be physically going out, doesn’t mean you can’t get glammed up and show the world what they’re missing. When planning your upcoming virtual festivities, why not set a dress code or theme for all your friends to follow. We’ve put together some virtual party outfit inspo to help you out...

Full glam
We are thinking glitter, sequins and a ‘full beat’ makeup look. Perfect if you are celebrating a big birthday and want to look the part... Kendall Jenner’s sparkly silver 21st bday dress is what we have in mind.
Get the DJ of the group to perform a set and start showing off those newly learnt TikTok moves (don’t forget to have a glass of prosecco in hand!).
PARTY TIP: Order in all the birthday hats, balloons and party poppers for you and your friends to make sure your party goes off with a bang!
Chill vibes
Sometimes you just want to be cute and comfy, and your friends are okay with that. Comfy chic is the way forward, even for a party.
As recent trends have shown, loungewear doesn’t have to look scruffy. Dress up your joggers with a simple crop and layered necklaces. Or, for a more cosy vibe if the weather isn’t too great, match a hoodie with leather trousers and some chunky boots.
Luckily for you, we already have a guide to loungewear necessities, showing you just how to nail the chilled look. Check it out, then add your own glam twist.

Fancy dress
The option of fancy dress doesn’t seem to come around that often... maybe twice a year when its Halloween or your crazy friend makes you all dress up for her bday! Some love it and some hate it, but now is the best time to go all out and have a laugh at each other. Plus, no one will even see you (in real life, anyway!).
Some characters that you can recreate from home if you don’t already own any costumes include:
- Sandy from Grease – all you’ll need is a pair of leather trousers, an off the shoulder top, some red lippy and big hair.
- Mrs Trunchbull – a grey sweatshirt, belt and tight, scraped back bun should do the trick!
- Velma from Scooby Doo – this is for the brunettes among us! An orange jumper, a pair of square glasses, and preferably a fringe if you have one.
Set a theme
Black tie
If you have missed out on your Uni summer ball or just fancy being a bit... well, fancy... then fish out your floor length gown for an extra classy virtual hang out. A Gatsby theme would also be a fun twist!
90’s baby
Recreate a Clueless-style outfit and sing Spice girls all night long. Perfect for a catch up with the girls or mini-celebration!
Beach party
As none of us will be attending Ocean Beach Ibiza this year, it doesn’t mean that the epic outfits need to go to waste. Throw on your newest swimwear and beach cover-up and get the party on its way. Don’t forget your sunnies!
Staying in is the new going out and we hope this inspo helps if you’re stuck for virtual party outfit ideas!
Catch ya later!
