Pubs to Open 4th July – What to Wear
Posted on 02 July 2020

Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently announced that pubs can open from 4th July (YASSS!). Whilst this is definitely music to our ears, did anyone else have the sudden panic about what they are going to wear when Saturday comes around!?
After wearing loungewear for a solid 3 months, it is safe to say that we have forgotten what an actual outfit looks like, let alone how to put it together. BUT, do not fear, the stress will be well worth it as soon as you step foot in your local and order that first bev.
You will probably be tempted to go completely over the top, full glam and show the world what they’ve been missing. However, you don’t want to look TOO keen so how about playing it cool like you haven’t been desperately waiting for this moment and keep it fairly casual?
Summery vibes
Thankfully, the world seems to be returning a little back to normal, just in time for summer! So, if this was meant to be your best summer yet, there’s still time. Obviously, it is important to take new guidelines one step at a time but it doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge in a little retail therapy and update your summer wardrobe. After being cooped up indoors for a few months, you may be unaware of the summer 2020 trends. Luckily for you, we have done our research and are here to help you out!

Our top picks this summer include:
Linen
Now, this may seem like a material that only your mum wears but give it a chance, linen is making a comeback. There are loads of beautiful blouses and dresses in the shops currently that make for a cute summer’s day outfit. Perfect for that picnic in the park with friends or that first socially distanced date after lockdown.
Sweat shorts
Hopefully you already knew about this one and have been taking full advantage during lockdown. Sweat shorts are essentially joggers cut short. Ideal for summer, unisex and can look pretty cool when styled right, so don’t put them to the back of your wardrobe just yet! We stock multiple brands and styles of sweat shorts for both men and women.
Bucket hats
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we will be attending any festivals this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t steal the fashion inspo for every day. Yes, bucket hats are still bang on trend and give any summers outfit that quirky edge.

Mix and match
If you do want to dress up a bit, mixing smarter pieces with more casual ones is a great way to do this whilst still keeping it understated.
For the girls, jeans with a t-shirt or cami and block heels is a great combo that will looks classy yet effortless. Or, switch out the heels for trainers and add a blazer to smarten it up.
For the boys, smart, slim fit cigarette style trousers look chic and sophisticated. Add crisp white trainers and a matching white tee for ultimate cool but casual vibes. Or if you prefer jeans, pair with a nice shirt and smart shoes. Check out our take on styling classic black jeans for more inspo!
